Vaginal Discharge: A mix of fluid and cells from the vagina that varies from whitish and sticky to clear and watery, possibly associated with an odour.
Symptoms
- discharge
- itching
- burning sensation
- pain, especially during sexual intercourse
- vulval swelling
- redness
- rash
Treatment
Self care that can aid in treatment include cleaning the genital area with mild soap and warm water to help to reduce odour. For yeast infections, using antifungal medication (Clotrimazole cream) may help to reduce itching and other symptoms. To prevent further irritation, it's best to avoid douches, scented soaps and hygiene sprays.
