BETACORT DROP 0.1% 10ML
Betacort is used in treating infection by reducing pain and swelling in the ear, eye and nose.
How do betamethasone drops work?
Betamethasone reduces inflammation. Inflammation can occur as a result of allergy or irritation and is caused by the release of chemicals that are involved in producing immune and allergic responses. These chemicals cause blood vessels to widen, resulting in the affected area becoming red, swollen, itchy and painful.
Betamethasone reduces inflammation by stopping cells from releasing these inflammatory chemicals. When it's administered directly into the eyes, ears or nose it reduces inflammation in these local areas.
How do I use betamethasone drops?
Always use these drops exactly as your doctor has asked you to. The instructions should be printed on the label that your pharmacist has put on the bottle, but if they're not, or you're not sure about anything, ask your pharmacist for advice.
Never use the drops for more than seven days unless your doctor has asked you to. If your symptoms haven't improved after seven days of treatment you should stop using the drops and see your doctor. If your doctor thinks prolonged therapy is needed, you should have regular check-ups.
