Piriton 4mg Tablets help treat hayfever and other allergies such as skin, food, insect and mosquito bites and pet allergies.

Piriton is used for relief from the symptoms of hayfever and other allergies. Provides relief and treatment for skin allergies, food allergies, pollen, pet allergies, house dust mite allergies, mould spore allergies and insect/mosquito bites.

What is Piriton?

Piriton allergy relief tablets contain an antihistamine called Chlorphenamine. Antihistamines like chlorphenamine are suitable for treating allergies by preventing the action of histamine in the body.
Histamine is responsible for the typical symptoms of an allergy. By blocking the effect of histamine with Piriton the classic symptoms of an allergy can be prevented.

How quickly does Piriton work?

Piriton can start working in as little as 30 minutes and can safely be used daily. So you can rely on Piriton to treat an allergy when required, or every day to prevent an allergy-like hayfever.

How to take Piriton:

Adults and children over the age of 12 years: take one tablet every 4-6 hours. Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours.

Children aged 6 - 12 years: Give half a tablet every 4-6 hours. Do not give more than 6 half tablets in 24 hours.

Piriton contains:

Each tablet contains Chlorphenamine Maleate 4mg.

Common side effects of Piriton include:

• drowsiness
• dizziness
• blurred vision
• nausea
• dry mouth

Common side effects usually affect around 1 in 10 people.

Caution:

Do not take if you are allergic to antihistamines or to any of the other ingredients, have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
